He is noted to be well versed in surveillance, wire-tapping, sound recording, interrogation and personnel. - As a lawyer in New York, Bernstein was sent money by the [[Jewish Agency]]. He would use the money to set up front companies (Foundry Associates, Materials For Palestine, Yardley Fabrics, etc.) which he would then use to smuggle arms, aircraft, and money to Israel. - Bernstein was the secretary of *Israel Speaks*, a Zionist propaganda publication out of New York. *Israel Speaks* was set up under the umbrella of "Americans For [[Haganah]]," an [[Abraham Feinberg]] enterprise. - Bernstein had contact with [[David Ben-Gurion]] and [[Teddy Kollek]] while at the State Department in the early 50s. - According to a 2012 CIA FOIA disclosure, Bernstein was operating a school of Haganah spies in Manhattan. His - Bernstein was involved with wiretapping Arab and British officials in hotel rooms, consulates, and vehicles.
