# Sonneborn Institute
- Secret network was organized in 1945 by [[Rudolf Sonneborn]] and [[David Ben-Gurion]] in the United States.
- The network was comprised of wealthy Jews, business owners, American Jewish Gangsters, and Israeli spies.
- The network funneled money and arms to the [[Haganah]] in preparation for the [[1948 Arab Israeli War]].
- In the 1950s and 1960s, the Sonneborn network was closely involved in funding the clandestine [[Israel and the Nuclear Bomb|Israeli nuclear project]].
- The network was active in the United States in the years after WWII, preceding the [[1948 Arab Israeli War]].
- [[Abraham Feinberg]] the Zionist financier and Democrat megadonor, was involved with the Sonneborn Institute. He acted as chairman, responsible for the disbursement of funds.
- [[Eliezer Kaplan]] and [[Abba Eban]], both high profile figures at the [[Jewish Agency]], were present at the founding meeting of the Sonneborn Institute.[^1]
- Kaplan was Israel's first finance minister under Ben-Gurion and eventually deputy prime minister in 1952.
- Eban was a highly prominent Israeli diplomat, Ambassador to the United States, foreign affairs minister, and deputy prime minister of Israel.
